The recipient of the Special Prize Award at the Fiorenza Cossotto International Voice Competition in Bologna, Italy, she was also a prizewinner and finalist at several international competitions, such as the Mahler International Song Contest, and the Festival of Russian Romance Songs, among other

Iva Bizeva has studied and worked with world-renowned pedagogues such as Carole Farley, Fabio Armiliato, Maria Spacagna, Francesca Pedacci, Stefka Evstatieva, Linda Hall, Guenko Guechev, Peter Danailov, Alfonso Antoniozzi, Claudia Visca, Elena Filipova, among others.

Ms. Bizeva’s most recent roles include Queen of the Night (Opera Sofia), Konstanze (Opera Nova Bulgaria), Despina (Opera Plovdiv), Melia (Apollo et Hyacinthus - Opera Sofia), Musetta (Sofia and Opera Varna), Zaide, Donna Anna, Madame Herz, Olympia, Lakmé, Violetta, Adina, Rosina, Lucia di Lammermoor, Juliette, Adele.

Since 2015 she appears on the stage of the Sofia Opera as Queen of the Night, Melia, Olympia, as well as in roles of rarely presented operas by Benjamin Britten (The Little Sweep), Leoš Janáček (The Cunning Little Vixen), Maurice Ravel (L’enfant et les sortiléges/ The Child and the Spells), Paul Hindemith (The Long Christmas Dinner), Domenico Cimarosa (Il matrimonio segreto),

And is part of the Opera for Children Program of Sofia Opera since 2010.

She has also performed very successfully in several musicals (Fame, Mamma Mia, Footloose).
